Backfire Of The Year: Democrats Posted Warning About President Trump’s Supreme Court Pick, But…

Democrats do not like President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh, as they do not like anything he does to help the United States succeed.

So, as anyone could have expected, shortly after Trump announced Kavanaugh would be the next Supreme Court Justice, Democrats quickly took to social media to resist the decision.

Some resistance came from Democrat lawmakers…

Former Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders tweeted, “President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh will be a rubber-stamp for an extreme, right-wing agenda pushed by corporations and billionaires.”

And, “We must mobilize the American people to defeat Trump’s right-wing, reactionary nominee.”

Democrat Senator and potential 2020 candidate Elizabeth Warren echoed: “Brett Kavanaugh’s record as a judge and lawyer is clear: hostile to health care for millions, opposed to the CFPB & corporate accountability, thinks Presidents like Trump are above the law – and conservatives are confident that he would overturn Roe v. Wade. I’ll be voting no.”

Democrat Senator Chris Murphy joined in and said, “Brett Kavanaugh is a true Second Amendment radical. He believes assault weapon bans are unconstitutional, a position way out of the judicial mainstream, far to the right of even late Justice Scalia.”

Democrat Senate Leader Chuck Schumer also took to social media and expressed his frustration over the pick: “In selecting Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court, [Trump] has put reproductive rights and freedoms and health care protections for millions of Americans on the judicial chopping block.”

He later added, “I will oppose Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination with everything I have, and I hope a bipartisan majority will do the same. The stakes are simply too high for anything less.”

And, during the White House announcement, Democrat Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was outside of the Supreme Court with a group of protesters. She led anti-Kavanaugh chants and forced capitol Police to shut down pedestrian traffic to First Street, Fox News reports.

…but the best mistake was from the Democrat Party’s official Twitter account. They tweeted an ominous photo of a judge in front of the Supreme Court and said, “A vote for [Kavanaugh] would be a vote to rip health care from American families and deny women their right to make their own health care choices.”

The tweet was deleted shortly after it was posted because the judge they featured in the photo was not Kavanaugh, but was Judge Thomas Hardiman.

Fox News reports this was not the only slip-up made by liberals concerning Kavanaugh:

The Democrats deleted the message that included the image of the wrong judge, but the embarrassing gaffe was captured and circulated on Twitter.

“The Democrats just put out an article attacking Judge Kavanaugh but they used an image of Judge Hardiman instead and I cannot stop laughing,” conservative commentator Jeremiah Dunleavy tweeted.

“That’s Thomas Hardiman they photoshopped to look scary, not Brett Kavanaugh,” Free Beacon reporter Brent Scher wrote.

Washington Free Beacon managing editor David Rutz wrote a column highlighting examples of far-left critics who planned to protest regardless of who Trump selected. Protestors had signs with blank spots occupying the name of the nominee, and the Women’s March initially released a statement referring to the nominee as “XX.”

“It will be harder to take arguments against Trump’s nominee seriously when so many in opposition decided he would have to be stopped, before they even knew he was a he,” Rutz wrote.

And, form the Daily Caller:

“‘Fill in the blank’ opposition keeps getting people in trouble,” Republican Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch’s office pointed out in a tweet. “That’s not even Judge Kavanaugh.”

Both the DNC and the DNC chair deleted their tweets after being mocked for the error on social media.
